The Wired Pair supplies many different types of tournament structures designed to meet the varying needs of the charitable organizations we work with. The tournaments will range from single-session tournaments, to multi-session, multi-day events. Some multi-day events will even have single table sit-n-go satellite tables during the first couple of days that will allow you to win a seat into one of the larger buy-in single session events.
In each tournament, we strive to provide a starting chip stack and blinds
structure that makes the game fun and competitive for all involved. We do not
want to have events where all of the skill is eliminated and it is turned into
a game of chance because people are continually forced all-in early or by
blinds that increase too quickly in relation to the starting chip stacks.
An example of a tournament structure is listed below. Keep in mind that the structure for EACH tournament may be different. This is just an example to give you an idea of how we suggest a tournament should be organized.
For Most SESSIONS with Rebuys each player will start with T1500 in chips. Re-buys are for another T1500 chips each. The limits, blinds and bets will increase according to the schedule below:
Each betting round consists of one bet, and up to a maximum of three raises. With only two players remaining in any hand, there is a maximum of five raises. No player will be allowed to skip a blind or be forced to pay a blind twice in a row (except during table consolidation) . If a player who is the small blind is eliminated, the button does not move. This ensures the big blind is not missed by the next player in order. If a player who is the big blind is eliminated, the button does not move and only the big blind will be posted for that round as the player who would have posted the small blind is no longer in the game. All players have an equal opportunity to benefit from this scenario. When a player loses all their chips they are declared out of the tournament and finish in the order they were eliminated. If more than one player is eliminated in the same hand, the player with the most chips before the hand started finishes higher. In the case where both players also have the same amount of chips before the hand, both players will tie for the position. If there is a tie between two or more players, the prizes they qualify for are split evenly between all tied players. For example, if two players tie for 2nd place, each player receives 50% of the second place prize and 50% of the third place prize. Qualifying sessions will be played until the pre-determined number of players are left at which point the session will be ended and all remaining players will be qualified for the final session. The final session will be played until one player remains and prizes will be awarded as players are eliminated. |
